*I-64/40 Reconstruction – The following lanes will be closed as part of the I-64 reconstruction work between November 23, 2009, and November 29, 2009.

Monday, November 23

• 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. one lane of southbound Hanley Road will be closed on the north side of the I-64 bridge.

• 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. one lane of westbound Eager Road will be closed from Meridian to the first traffic signal.

Tuesday, November 24

• No traffic restrictions are currently scheduled.

Wednesday, November 25

• No traffic restrictions are currently scheduled.

Thursday, November 26

• No traffic restrictions are currently scheduled.

Friday, November 27

ALSO NOTE: The work on I-64 just east of Kingshighway Boulevard is almost complete. Most of the lane restrictions have been removed and the eastbound I-64 on ramp from Papin Street is open. The eastbound I-64 exit ramp for Vandeventer Avenue is also open. The ramp from Vandeventer Avenue to westbound I-64 will remain closed until I-64 opens between Kingshighway and I-170.

St. Louis County

Route 67 (Lindbergh Blvd.) & Route AC (New Halls Ferry Road) – The contractor will be performing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades, installing sidewalks, concrete approaches, curb ramps and pedestrian signal heads on Route 67 from North of Dorsett Road to Route 180 (St. Charles Rock Road) and from South of McDonnell Blvd. to I-270.  The work will be performed from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.  This project is expected to be completed by the end of May 2010.

*Route 109 bridge over Bonhomme Creek – MoDOT and its contractor, Kozeny Wagner closed the Route 109 Bridge over Bonhomme Creek on October 26th. The bridge will remain closed until approximately Wednesday December 2 while a new replacement structure is constructed. All northbound and southbound Route 109 traffic has been detoured to Route BA around this closure. Changeable message boards and construction signing are in place notifying motorists of the detour.

Route 340 (Olive Blvd) west of Creve Coeur Mill Road – Crews will be blasting rock north of Olive.  Olive will be closed for 1 – 2 minutes once or twice a day during off peak hours while blasting takes place.

Route 180 (St. Charles Rock Road) from I-170 to Lackland, Route D (Page Avenue) at Ashby – The contractor will be performing signal work and sidewalk construction at the intersection of Page and Ashby. New signal equipment will be turned on at the intersection of Page and Ashby as well as Route 180 and Lackland.  One lane will be closed in each direction Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  This project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2009. 

*Lindbergh Boulevard (Route 67) – No lane closures anticipated on Route 67 between Old St. Charles Rock Rd. and Manchester Rd. (Route 100).

*Route 21 (Tesson Ferry) at Meramec River – Crews will periodically close the northbound lane of the Route 21 (Tesson Ferry Road) bridge over the Meramec River on Monday, November 23. All work is weather permitting. Traffic will be periodically delayed on the northbound lane between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., to allow concrete trucks to dump material for the new bridge driving surface.  This $1.96 million project will replace the bridge deck on the Route 21 (Tesson Ferry Road) bridge over the Meramec River at the St. Louis County/Jefferson County line. This project is expected to be completed in spring 2010.

*Interstate 44 at Lewis Rd – Crews will continue various rehabilitation work on the westbound Meramec River Bridge.  Various lane closures should be expected nightly from 7pm to 6am. Rehabilitation work on the Lewis Road Bridge Deck will also continue. The Lewis Road Bridge is reduced to one lane and temporary traffic signals are in place to control traffic.

St. Louis City

*Interstate 64 from 21st Street to the Poplar Street bridge- Contractor will be closing the right lane of west bound Poplar Street bridge from the Route 3 on-ramp to the end of the bridge on Monday, November 23. All exits at the west end of the bridge complex will be opened to traffic. The right lane will closed at 10:00 AM and will reopen at 10:00 PM. weather permitting.

*Route H (Adelaide) from Hall Street to I-70– The contractor will conduct maintenance work on the Adelaide Bridge, north of Interstate 70, on Monday, November 23, weather permitting. MoDOT will close the inside lanes between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Motorists traveling in both directions will be able to use the outside lanes on the bridge. This work is part of a rehabilitation project on the Adelaide Bridge to remove and replace the bridge deck. Motorists can expect lane closures and permanent restrictions between fall 2009 and fall 2010. Motorists can expect occasional lane closures in fall 2009 and permanent restrictions in March 2010. This project is expected to be completed by August 1, 2010.

*Memorial Drive (Interstate 70 Outer Road) – Crews will finish with the construction of the sidewalk and curb along Memorial Drive. Sodding of disturbed grass areas and general cleanup will occur. All Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements will be completed, including pedestrian countdown heads and push buttons. All this work should be completed by Tuesday, December 1. This work is part of the Interstate 70 outer road at Memorial Drive resurfacing project, which is expected to be complete by December 2009. This project an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act projects awarded by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for approximately $5 million dollars to St. Louis Bridge Construction Company. Work consists of bridge rehabilitation, improvements to the pavement, lighting, drainage, signals, signing, and Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades on the Interstate 70 outer road at Memorial Drive from the Interstate 44/55 interchange to Washington Avenue.

I-64 from Kingshighway to east of Jefferson- Project includes removing and replacing asphalt, pavement repair, rehabilitate two bridges, median barrier, and update guardrail.  Lane closures present include WB I-64 from Tower Grove to Kingshighway reducing from 4 lanes to 3. Vandeventer on-ramp to I-64 WB has been closed for operations being performed on WB I-64. Vandeventer off-ramp and Papin St. on-ramp to I-64E are now open. The contractor will be performing final clean up early in the week, trucks will be entering and leaving the area periodically and also may have various moving operations.  

Various Bridge Overpasses over Interstate 55- Contractor will be working on the sub-structure repair on the Arsenal and Sidney Bridges during daytime hours. No lane closures are required during this work. This project is part of rehabilitation work on the overpasses at 6 locations over I-55 in St. Louis City. They include overpasses at Lafayette, Sidney, Pestalozzi, Arsenal, and Utah. Other bridges over I-55 included in this project are Gravois/12th St. and Gravois at Russell Ave.  Start dates for work on these bridges will be announced at a future date.

St. Charles County

Route 94 Between Clark Street and Route 370 –Paving and milling operations will start; weather permitting, on November 10th.  2nd Street between Clark and Bainbridge Streets will be the first area of operations.  Once 2nd Street is complete, work will continue on Clark Street and 3rd Street.  This work will occur between 6pm and 6am nightly and also between 8:30am and 3pm daily.  Once all paving is complete striping work will begin, which will complete the project. During work hours there will be only one lane of traffic with flaggers directing traffic through the work zone.

Route 364 between Jungermann Road and Central School Road - This is the second section of Phase 2 Route 364 and is an American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Project.  The project consists of new concrete pavement from the Woodstone Underpass to just west of Central School Road and replaces the existing Route 94.  New interchanges are planned for at Jungermann Road and Central School Road as well as an underpass at Woodstone.  A one-way outer road system will be constructed for the length of the project.   The project was awarded to Fred Weber, Inc.  Work is expected to begin this fall.   

Route 94 from Route J to Route 67 – Contractor will be performing shoulder work Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weather permitting.  This project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2009.

Route A- Crews will restrict Route A in St. Charles County to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays for bridge and pavement work. Since the roadway is restricted to one lane, crews will be using flaggers to direct traffic through the work zone. Drivers using Route A are encouraged to allow extra time to get to their destination. The $2.3 million project includes bridge rehabilitation work, pavement repairs, shoulder improvements and making the existing pavement smoother. The project is scheduled to be complete in November 2009.

Route 40 between Lake St. Louis Blvd and I-70 – Traffic is using the new Prospect Road interchange. Access to Hwy 40 from Callahan Road is now permanently closed.  Callahan traffic will use the new Prospect Bridge to access Hwy 40.  Crews are completing grading and drainage work. During this work, MoDOT will also complete construction of the outer road system to make sure access to property along Rte. 40 remains available. Access to all local business will remain open. Once upgrades are complete Rte. 40/61 will be designated as Interstate 64 from the city of St. Louis to I-70 in St. Charles County.

Route 364 between Jungs Station Road and Jungermann Road-   Crews opened the new Harvester Road Bridge over Route 364 on October 26th. Traffic is now in it’s final position on the bridge. The contractor will now focus on removing the old bypass pavement and continue grading operations for Route 364.  In the meantime, traffic is still routed to the north and south outer roadways until Route 364 pavement is completed sometime in mid 2010. This is the first section of Phase 2 Route 364. This job includes grading, concrete pavement, drainage, and a steel girder bridge at Harvester Road.

Jefferson County

Route 61 at Muddy Creek bridge- Crews opened the Muddy Creek Bridge on Route 61 (two miles south of Interstate 55) this afternoon, two weeks earlier than scheduled. The bridge has been closed for approximately 2½ months for bridge replacement work. Route 61 was also widened to provide left turn lanes at Dooling Hollow Road. Construction will continue on Route 61, including striping and work on the shoulders and entrances. This work is apart of the new Route 61 being constructed to improve the safety and capacity of this roadway.  MoDOT and Iron Mountain Trap Rock Company will install a concrete overlay along Route 61 for approximately 13 miles. This is the first five-inch concrete overlay project in the St. Louis area. This project is expected to be complete in approximately mid-November 2009.

Route 30 between Route B and the Jefferson/Franklin County line- Crews will begin removing and replacing shoulders on Route 30 from the Franklin County line to west of Route B in Jefferson County. One lane of Route 30 will be closed each day from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expect delays, as flaggers will be in place to direct traffic at the work zone. This reconstruction project consists of repaving, adding paved shoulders and rumble strips. A left turn lane at Route Y. This project is expected to be completed in late November 2009.  

Route 30 at Delores Drive- Crews have begun traffic signal reconstruction on Route 30 at Delores Drive near the St. Louis County/Jefferson County line. Most of the work will take place off the roadway, but periodic lane closures may occur. This project is expected to be completed September 2009.

*Route 21 (Tesson Ferry) at Meramec River – Crews will periodically close the northbound lane of the Route 21 (Tesson Ferry Road) bridge over the Meramec River Monday, November 23. All work is weather permitting. Traffic will be periodically delayed on the northbound lane between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., to allow concrete trucks to dump material for the new bridge driving surface.  This $1.96 million project will replace the bridge deck on the Route 21 (Tesson Ferry Road) bridge over the Meramec River at the St. Louis County/Jefferson County line. This project is expected to be completed in spring 2010.   

Route MM between Route 21 and Geerdes Road- The contractor is working on new driveway entrances, finish grading, seeding and mulching, placing ditch liners and installing new guardrail. New permanent asphalt is being placed between Buckeye Valley and Randy Drive. Excavation work is beginning in front of House Springs Intermediate School. Flaggers may be in place for trucks entering and leaving the roadway.  Utility work is also in progress between Miller Road and Geerdes Road. This job includes pavement, drainage, grading and box culvert extensions on two section of Route MM between Route 21 and Route 30 and is scheduled to be complete in fall of 2010.

Route 67 from Route 61 to the St. Francois County line - This project is for various intersection improvements and high-tension guard cable installation.  Weather permitting there will be median shoulder work on the northbound lanes.  No anticipated traffic impacts.

Franklin County

Interstate 44 from east of the intersection of Route 100 to east of the intersection of Route OO near Pacific – The Prime Contractor, Fred Weber, Inc., has begun working on surveying and layout for the project and will begin with the construction of drainage structures this winter.  This project is funded using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) money. This project consists of grading, drainage improvements, pavement replacement and median closures on Interstate 44 between Pacific and the Route 100 (Washington) exit.

Route 50 (Union, MO)- Clearing and grubbing operations throughout the project are being performed.  Drainage items are being installed at various locations.  There should be no impact to traffic during these operations due to work being performed outside the shoulder limits.

Business Loop I-44/ Osage St in Pacific, MO- Crews are working in several locations on storm sewer installations. The center left turn lane on Osage is closed in various locations to shift traffic to two thru lanes.  Expect some traffic congestion due to the left turn lane closure.  Have begun pouring new pavement on the north side of Osage from just east of Payne St. to the Viaduct St. intersection. Work is scheduled to be completed by May 20, 2011.

*Bridge on Route 47 over the Missouri River - Motorists can expect traffic delays, as crews continue rehabilitation work on the Route 47 Missouri River Bridge. Traffic is now in Stage 4 of the Route 47 Missouri River Bridge rehabilitation project. This final stage will involve work on the west side at the south half of the bridge. The southbound lane is closed with one-way traffic alternating on the northbound lane. This stage will last approximately one month and consists of the following closures:

• Fifth Street at Route 47 will close, except for right turns from northbound and southbound Route 47.
• All access to Sixth Street at Route 47 will close.
• Third Street, First Street and Missouri Avenue will remain closed at Route 47.
• Motorists traveling northbound and southbound on Route 47 will be allowed to make right turns onto 5th Street.

Route 100 east of South Point Rd. to Route I-44 (Washington, MO) -Crews are working on the bridge at Dubois Creek on Highway 100. Traffic has moved to the south side of the structure to complete widening of north portions.  There will be blasting and excavation operations at various times. Railroad bridge construction is complete and seed and mulching operations continue at various locations.  Installation has begun on the 18” rock base throughout the project.  Crews will begin a paving operation on Route 100 starting Wednesday, October 28. Paving work will take place on the north side of Route 100 at the west end of the project where motorists can expect minimal lane closures. Crews are constructing retaining walls at various locations. This project will widen Route 100 from the City of Washington going east to Route I-44. This work is part of the Route 100 widening project, which is part of a cost-share partnership between MoDOT and the city of Washington. The $21.1 million dollar project will add two additional lanes on Route 100 from Interstate 44 to Route 47. The widening project is expected to be complete in June 2010.
