Preapplications for high speed rail funds for the Union Pacific route between St. Louis and Kansas City were filed by MODOT on July 6, 2009 with the Federal Railroad Administration. The preapplications give a very general outline of each project proposed which were then further refined in a later final application for each project.
MoDOT's 2009 HSIPR Preapplications
Final applications for high speed rail funds for the Union Pacific route between St. Louis and Kansas City were filed by MODOT on August 22, 2009 with the Federal Railroad Administration. The final applications are split into two categories. The 3 "Track 1a" projects give an extremely detailed description of each project proposed and a proposed construction schedule for each of the 3 "shovel ready" projects. The 8 "Track 1b" projects give a less-detailed description of each project as those projects still need to have preliminary engineering and environmental clearances completed for them.
