Route 61 - Iron Mountain Trap Rock Co. Job# J3P2146/J3P2146C Construct an interchange between Route U and Mette Road on Route 61; partnership agreement between MoDOT and Crossroad Centers, Inc. The work involves building a new bridge over Route 61 to carry Route U and Mette Road traffic. Ramps will be built to allow traffic off of and on to Route 61.

Location: Route 61, U and Mette Road just south of Moscow Mills-News Release Project Awarded

Work Zone Info:  One lane traffic and short-term daytime lane closures are possible.

Project Status:  Project 58% complete - Miscellaneous cleanup in anticipation of winter; some drainage structures, paving and baserock anticipated in the spring.

Location: Resurfacing from Route 154 north junction in Monroe County to 1.1 miles north of Route 22 at Mexico in Audrain County, 25 miles

Work Zone Info: Project active - One lane traffic at work zone with flaggers during daytime work hours with a 10 ft. width restriction from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Project Status: Project 99% complete - Paving operations completed in Mexico; conditions permitting contractor should return to complete paving operation from south of Paris to Route D which is approximately 6 miles.

Shelby County
Construction Projects

Route 36 - Progressive Contractors Job# J3P0409C & 410 - Grading and paving for new dual divided facility, minimal to no impact to traffic.

Location:  From 0.6 mile west of Route 15 at Shelbina east to 0.4 mile west of Ralls County at Monroe City

Work Zone Info: Traffic switch to temporary connection with 45 mph speed limit through the temporary connection.

County Roads 467 and 473 at Route 36 closed until further notice. Several of these operations will be reduced speeds in areas with extra truck traffic entering and exiting various locations.

Project Status:  Overall Project 75% complete- Shelby County area – 70% complete - Contractor will be paving 24 hours/day when weather conditions permit going from the Salt River west to Shelbina. Contractor will be laying base rock on the EBL at the Salt River (West of Hunnewell) and they will also be building access across the new pavement at all entrances and Co Rds.  Co Rd. 486 & Co Rd. 490 remains closed. There will be several county roads closed for a few days when paving through the area. The speed limit in this work zone is 45 mph. The activities listed will create excessive truck traffic. Watch for trucks turning in and out of entrances. The westbound on/off ramps at Routes 36/15 at Shelbina remain closed off while the contractor builds and paves a portion of the new highway, rebuilding part of the ramps, and tie it in to the existing highway. Motorists driving west will be directed to take the first Shelbina exit to access Route 15 north and south. Detours clearly signed. Marion County area – 85% complete - Contractor will be laying base rock on the eastbound lanes just west of Monroe City also building access across the new pavement at all entrances and county roads. Speed Limit at various locations in this area are 35 mph and 45 mph where posted.

Route 36 - Bross Construction Job #J2P0482 - Grading, paving and concrete girder bridges for new dual divided facility.

Location:  From east of Route 63 near Macon to west of Route 15 near Shelbina

Work Zone Info:  Route 36 at the Route 151 intersection near Clarence, two-way traffic on Route 36 will utilize the newly constructed pavement under the Route 151 Bridge. The ramps currently used as the bypass will be closed.  Also at this time, the Route 151 Bridge over Route 36 will be opened to traffic.After the switch, traffic on Route 36 needing to access Route 151 must take Business 36 into Clarence and proceed to Route 151, exactly as before the project began.

Project Status:  Project 75% complete - Macon/Shelby County - Contractor has completed mainline paving from the West end of the project to Crooked Creek, approximately 1 mile West of Lentner.  Contractor continues hand pave at median crossovers and is laying aggregate base in preparation for paving further East yet this year.  All major earthwork is complete and only finishing and fine grading remain.  Work has resumed on the Route 36 bridge over Route FF since the bridge fills are now complete.  The Route 151 bridge over Route 36 was opened last month.

Estimated Completion:  July 2010 open to traffic; September 2010 completion.
